To top it off. The guys at Activision blames the lack of innovation on DJ Hero. You know? The short lived series that was probably the most innovative thing Activision has ever made in half the decade? They hung up the hat because the music genre was declining (Rock Band 3 was dominating, but they don't want you to know that. Oh that and something about Guitar Hero 6: Warriors of Rock being a terrible game, or so I've heard. Might also have to do with them constantly releasing a new guitar hero game way too early, downloadable songs not integrating with newer installments, releasing Band Hero, and the mistakes just pile on from there), only to announce Dance Hero later on. Now we got another Guitar Hero on the way?!
This kind of logic that flows in our industry just makes me want to give up on gaming, or at least give up on Activision (not that I have not already done that a long time ago). If they just want to give me a shooter. Then gimme a shooter. They want to rehash a music game with different tracks. Then go right ahead. But do not bullshit us when you say that you are reinventing the industry or bringing innovation. What innovation did you bring? Call of Duty Elite? It's the same thing as Halo Waypoint, except with an optional subscription service for crap I do not want. Oh and thanks for the theater mode. Now we can clearly see that us gamers were not just crazy to notice the hit boxes for the multiplayer portion of Black Ops (let alone the Modern Warfare games) are way off almost all the time. DJ Hero was probably the only unique thing you did in a long time (or at least something that is mostly different and easier than Konami's Beatmania games in Japan, but still), and you blame innovation for the lack of innovation?
What?! WHAT?! DUMMY! |
Ok, I am not in the right mind set for this as I am just ranting off at this point. So just to calm down, I'm going to direct you to this part of the video. It may be terrible, but at least they do not claim to provide innovation all the time. The video may be poorly done, but at least it seems honest. That is something I would rather hear. I would rather have something that would just come out and know what it wants to be. Not end up like Peter Molyneux and make shit up. Ok, unlike his Fable series, you at least do not make outlandish claims... wait, I forgot where I was going with this...
My mind is really getting off track. I am going to make like Squall (aka Emo Git) from Final Fantasy VIII and ellipses myself to sleep... ... ...
Oh yeah, and some of my videos are missing, so I'll be remaking them, just because I'm proud of them.
So, Angel, you should do a "Trials And Errors" on Trigger Man for the PlayStation 2.
